As a wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of documenting countless weddings, but Hanna and Josh's wedding was truly something special. From the emotional moments to the unexpected surprises, their day unfolded in the best way and I was there to capture every precious moment. Here are a few of my favorite highlights from their gorgeous wedding day in Athens, Georgia
Josh's groomsmen arrival
The day kicked off with a burst of energy as Josh's groomsmen made their arrival to 255 Milledge. These boys put their own comedic twist on “gameday” photos and they did NOT disappoint. From crop tops, to inflatable chicken suits - these boys let me know that they were here for a gooood time!
heartfelt gift exchange with mom + first look with dad
One of the most touching moments was the intimate gift exchange between Hanna and her mom. Hanna gifted her mom custom drawing of 3 generations - herself, her mom, and her late grandmother. The moment was filled with so many emotions and led us into another special moment with Hanna and her dad - their first look. The father-daughter moments on a wedding day are always tear-jerkers (at least for me) and Hanna's first look with her dad was no exception.

Our day took a little bit of a turn as the rain clouds starting rolling into Athens. We waited the rain out as long as possible until Hanna and Josh came up to me and said, “Screw it! Let’s take some pics in the rain!” My response? “You don’t have to tell me twice!” I absolutely loved the energy that Hanna + Josh and their ENTIRE bridal party brought during this part of the day. As the rain started to pour, instead of dampening spirits, it became an unexpected highlight of the day. The rain added a touch of magic, and everyone's good spirits turned what could have been a challenge into an unforgettable experience and such fun photos!
hairy dawg joins the party
Weddings often have surprise guests, but none as beloved as Hairy Dawg. As a UGA alum, I have to say, I was fangirling a little bit! Hanna + Josh added this surprise in for their guests during their dance party and let me tell you, the energy was HIGH. Nothing quite like calling the dawgs with your favorite people!
I could go on and on about all of the beautiful details and moments on Hanna and Josh's wedding day but this blog post would turn into a novel. Overall, the entire day was full of so many special, love-filled moments. As a wedding photographer, my job is to freeze these moments in time, allowing my couples to relive their special day for years to come. I’m. Beyond grateful to have been a part of such a gorgeous wedding day in one of my favorite cities with some of the best people I’ve met. Here’s to The Hennesys!
