In-Studio Bridal Session in Savannah, GA
What is a bridal session and should I have one?
Letβs talk about bridal sessions! For those of you who donβt know, bridal sessions are essentially a session dedicated to the bride and groom, or shoot, maybe even the bride, to get some additional portraits of themselves in their wedding day glam. Bridal sessions usually happen before or after the wedding day depending on your preference. This idea is simply GENIUS to me. Who doesnβt want extra portraits of them and their lover to celebrate their marriage, am I right?
During this shoot, I truly could only think of 2 things:
One, how freakinβ gorgeous are Sydnie and Brett? These two just brought all the vibes for these studio bridals, and now they are about to embark on their own forever so so soon! Thatβs right these cuties are getting HITCHED yβall. And I had the chance to capture their proposal. You can check that out HERE!
And two, why are we not doing MORE bridal sessions?? This is something that I am even considering doing just to get back in my wedding dress and celebrate this beautiful thing called marriage. There are so many reasons as to why a bridal session might work for you so letβs go over just a couple:
rain on your wedding day
The dreaded βRβ word. A photographer and brideβs worst nightmare when it comes to wedding days, but you know I am always here to keep it 100% real with you. Say your day comes around and itβs golden hour and all of a sudden a big ole thunderstorm comes rolling in for your coupleβs portraits. As a bride, I am sure youβve always dreamt of those glowy, sunset photos of you and your boo on your big day but rude Mr. R decided to crash your wedding. A bridal session on another, sunnier and dryer day could land you those outdoor, golden hour coupleβs photos youβve always dreamed of!
maximizing your hair + makeup trial
Looking back, this is one of the things I would have changed leading up to my wedding day! The day I got my hair and makeup trial I was feeling like a true bride. And you know what I did? I went and ate hibachi and wiped all that makeup off my face within an hour. Since I was already in full bridal glam, I would have loved to capture some additional photos of just me in my secondary dress or even something spunky and fun to make the most out of getting my hair and makeup done. Consider a bridal session if you want solo bridal photos outside of wedding day, have a fun dress that you want to show off, or if you want to see what your hair and makeup will actually look like on camera.
dream locations
And this is how I am going to make up for the lack of a bridal session before my wedding day! We are going to do it after, honestly more than likely for our one-year wedding anniversary. Matt and I got married here in Georgia and when I say I loved every ounce of my wedding day I truly did, but there are some bucket list locations that he and I would absolutely adore to have some photos at. A post-wedding bridal session is the perfect excuse to pack your bags, get back in your dress, head off to a remote location - ahem, Colorado - and celebrate your love all over again.
time freedom
You know we really donβt talk about this much when it comes to weddings. As a bride, there are a million and one things going on in your head on your wedding day. You are thinking of all of the important details you planned and trying to not play wedding planner, or maybe that was just me. Nonetheless, sometimes there are photos that can get missed on your wedding day due to all of the moving parts. Rather than brushing them off and never getting to them, schedule a bridal session to make up for it!
I had the most amazing time hanging with Sydnie + Brett for this creative in-studio bridal session in Savannah, Georgia.
