Downtown Savannah City-Style Elopement

The Toussaints

Billy John and Kristina’s elopement was sheer proof that your wedding day should be exactly what you want and nothing less. These two opted for a private ceremony in Forsyth Park (a Savannah staple) with just them and an officiant to help them tie the knot. Their ceremony was short and sweet in the best way. Something about it just being the two of them made the moment feel even more special. They exchanged their vows, shared their first kiss and got some cheers from some people walking through the park.

The rest of our afternoon was spent running around some of my favorite locations around Downtown Savannah for some editorial-style portraits. Kristina rocked a black midi dress and white veil - talk about a modern bride! It was so sweet to watch these two love on each other throughout our entire time together. You could just feel how happy they were to celebrate being married in their new city. The rain started to roll in which added a little bit of a moody vibe to their bride and groom portraits but thankfully we dodged the rain during our entire afternoon together!

As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love the intimacy of elopements because they provide a unique opportunity to capture the purest form of love and emotion between a couple. With fewer distractions and pressures from guests and family, elopements allow for more focused attention on the couple's true connection, resulting in stunning and authentic photographs. And the best part? Elopements often take place in beautiful and intimate locations (like gorgeous Forsyth Park) and who wouldn't want their photos taken in an epic location?!
