Disco Themed Wedding at Soho South Cafe
Savannah, Georgia
I had the honor of spending my afternoon with Moonbeam Weddings and Events to capture this gorgeous disco-themed wedding day at Soho South Cafe, a modern Savannah wedding venue. When Savannah from Moonbeam reached out to me to photograph her vision I was so beyond down. And when I saw the mood board, oh it was game freakin’ over!
This drunk-in-love wedding day was full of all of my favorite things, drinks, disco balls, glitter, and non-tradition. Our bride sported a black wedding dress that was absolutely show-stopping and her funky makeup definitely drew inspo from our colorful floral arrangements and wedding table decorations. Not to mention her sparkly wedding boots from Betsey Johnson - I swear Betsey never lets me down!
The tablescape was beyond fabulous lined with vintage cocktail glasses, tinsel, black and pink table settings, and rock candy, ring pops, and lollipops as wedding favors - like seriously HOW FUN! I actually love this idea for future brides - favors at your table
For the bridals, Soho South has this gorgeous string light wall that if you can catch it in natural light, you’re left with PURE MAGIC. When it came around to their couple’s portraits, I wanted to take a more editorial approach and it’s clear that our couple DELIVERED. I decided to whip out my flash and watched drunk wedding after party and old Hollywood glam meet right in front of my lens and was geeking out the whole time. I’ve really been into flash photos lately and I think it’s because they are a subtle nod to the polaroid photos I used to take when I was a little girl.
This colorful disco wedding day was a modern bride’s dream come true - and a photographer’s dream come true too. The images and moments we were able to capture were a little more loose and free and I couldn’t have imagined a better outcome. This entire day was a simple reminder that your day and your photos should be FUN. If you know anything about me, I’m a huge sucker for making your big day true to you and if that looks like rock candy and disco balls, know I’m down for the ride.
