Intimate Elopement in Savannah, Georgia
GWYN + ADRIAN
I donโt even know how to put this day into words so biggest apologies if I word vomit all over this blog post! Gwyn and Adrian are some of the sweetest souls I have ever met and I have had the absolute honor to get to know them over the past couple years. My story with these two started way back in 2020 when Adrian reached out to me to capture his proposal to Gwyn in Savannahโs historic Forsyth Park. That day still goes on to be one of the sweetest proposals Iโve had the honor of capturing. Fast forward to when Gwyn reached out to me to let me know the two had plans to make their way from Kentucky back down to Savannah for an intimate elopement and wanted little ole me to capture their day. I remember seeing this message pop up and the feeling of pure JOY I had. I replied aa resounding YES, and we were off! Gwyn and I spent the majority of 2021 sending countless inspo photos back and forth, planning their locations, and chatting all about how we can make her courtyard wedding Pinterest dreams come to life.
When Gwyn + Adrianโs big day rolled around earlier this year, we were both beyond excited to see all of the planning come together. Their spring wedding day started with Gwynโs glam and my gosh I swear she is the most stunning bride - like Carrie Underwood who?! All of her day of details were absolutely spot on - from her elegant gown, cathedral-length veil and the most stunning pair of bridal shoes - I was DROOLING! And Adrian had a pretty cool getting ready moment himself - his brother actually gave him a fresh shape up while he got all dapper for his groomโs portraits. How freaking cool?!
After getting ready, Gwyn and Adrian opted for a first look back in Forsyth Park, yep - right where they got engaged. They exchanged the sweetest private vows and I was a sobbing wreck behind the camera. They decided on the Davenport House Museum courtyard as their ceremony location which was absolutely perfect for them, their sweet baby boy, and their immediate families. After their ceremony, we all relaxed around the courtyard celebrating with champagne and the yummiest lemon cake. And then my favorite part of the dayโฆ their couples portraits! During planning, Gwyn emphasized that she wanted TONS of images of her and Adrian so we made room for lots of that on their big day. Gwyn changed into a white mini dress with the cutest pearl veil and Adrian changed into an all-black fit and we spent the rest of the afternoon running around Downtown Savannah. No rush, just love and a whole lot of shutter clicks.
Getting to walk through this season with Adrian and Gwyn has been truly a dream. We captured their proposal, they welcomed their sweet baby boy into the world, and then we celebrated their union. THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPHERโS DREAM YALL. To be able to walk through multiple stages of your love story with you. Itโs seriously the biggest honor in the world!
